House of Glam Presents: Eco-Fashion In The Park

Sep 19, 2011

I was contacted by House of Glam about an event that will be occurring this Sunday, September 25, in Upper Manhattan (Highbridge Park). It is called "Eco-Fashion In The Park" and there will be a runway show featuring 11 eco-friendly designer and it is produced by Gina Constanza, fashion stylist and founder of House of Glam NYC.

Along with event info, I was sent some sketches of designs by Lissy Gomez and I just wanted to share my favorite design:

Not only is it absolutely beautiful but it's in my favorite color. And there were other gorgeous designs as well, I am definitely excited to see these on the runway.

For more information on this event, just go here to visit the event website. See you there!

Rawr! OOTD

My best friend's birthday was this past Wednesday so we all went out to celebrate on Friday. We went to a club and had a blast. I wanted to be sexy and comfortable so I paired a basic fitted dress with wedged booties. I love these shoes because not only are they incredibly fierce but also very comfy! I found the dress to be sexy in a classy way since it didn't show much skin.

my hair was sooo frizzy by the end of the night *sighs*

Dress: American Apparel
Clutch: F21
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (I purchased them off of www.ssense.com)

Neutral Funk FOTD

Aug 14, 2011

I haven't done an FOTD post in so long but I've been in a neutral rut so that's all I've been doing. I've been super busy and haven't been going out much so my makeup hasn't been that interesting.

I did this look to switch up my neutral routine just a little by adding some electric blue to my lower lashline. It was to complement a grey maxi dress I was wearing. I didn't want to be so colorless all over hence the little funk to my neutral look.

Products Used:
FACE
NYX Face Primer (lavender one)
Latina Bella Liquid Foundation in No 10
Maybelline Fit Me Powder in No 350
Wet n Wild Bronzer in "Goddess"
NYX blush in "Mocha"
EYES
ELF eyelid primer
MAC e/s in "bold & brazen"
Wet n Wild "Pride" e/s palette (dark brown, taupe and highlight colors)
NYX palette in "Bohemian Rhapsody" (brown for crease)
Coastal Scents 88 palette (electric blue on lower lashline)
Jafra eyeliner pencil in "Black"
Flirt It! Mascara
ELF studio brow kit in "Medium"
LIPS
Eos lip balm in "Summer Fruit"
Maybelline lipstick in "Pink Please"
Revlon Super Lustruous lip gloss in "Peach Petal"

I tried filling in my eyebrows because the lady that threaded them too thin. I was so mad! But I think I did an okay job.

Buyers Beware of Luna Boston

Buyers Beware of Luna Boston

Aug 10, 2011

Luna Boston (www.lunaboston.com) is a site that sells handbags from designers such as Rebecca Minkoff and House of Harlow. So this is my experience dealing with them:

I ordered the Gypsy Crossbody Clutch by Rebecca Minkoff. I received it within 2 days and was dissatisfied because the color and texture of the bag wasn't true to its description. I went to the site to process the return and they send you a printing label but that label didn't show on my screen so I called and the customer service rep said to bring the bag in person to their offices in New York.

I did so the next day which was on July 7th. It states on their site to wait 7-10 business days for a refund. It has been a month already! I've called twice and they always they say they are going to give me my refund and have yet to do so. I've even written them a stern email and still nothing. So I have resorted to writing a blog post.

It is incredibly irresponsible of them to no give me my refund and I am very dissatisfied with their poor way of handling things. So I warn all my readers to think twice before purchasing anything from this site.

You're Cordially Invited...

Aug 8, 2011

To my dream wedding! I don't know why but I've been having wedding fever even though I'm nowhere near to getting married. I was also inspired by a blog post done by @MyMargieB on a fantasy wedding. This was really fun to do, actually too much fun lol. Hope you enjoy!

The Venue

I chose The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers as the location. With a beautiful view of the Hudson, it is the perfect place.
Flowers

My wedding has a strong purple theme because it's my favorite color. I will have tulips because they're my favorite as well as roses because it looks very pretty together.

I will carry a simple bouquet of purple tulips.

Bridesmaid Dresses

I liked this dress but my version will be fitted and shortened a little below the knee.

The Cake

I want my cake to be elegant and simple. And chocolate.

And last but not least...

The Dress!

I fell in love with this Vera Wang as soon as I saw it. My version is going to be a silvery white because I don't want a straight white dress.

To accessorize, I chose this tiara from Tiffany and purple, strappy Brian Atwood shoes. You best believe I'll be showing them off while I'm dancing away at my reception lol.

Thank you all for attending ;).
