Enter for A Chance To Win a KILLERS Prize Pack!

May 28, 2010

I was contacted by Sarah at 42West and she gave the opportunity to pick two winners to win a prize pack for the movie KILLERS.

ABOUT THE FILM KILLERS...

Trailer: http://killersfilm.com/

Synopsis: Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher) is just your average, undercover, government-hired super-assassin accustomed to a life of exotic European locales, flashy sports cars and even flashier women. But when he meets Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl), a beautiful, fun-loving computer tech recovering from a bad break-up, he finds true love…and happily trades international intrigue for domestic bliss.

Three years later, Spencer and Jen are still enjoying a picture-perfect marriage – that is, until the morning after Spencer’s 30th birthday. That’s when Spencer and Jen learn he's the target of a multi-million dollar hit. Even worse, the hired killers have been stalking the happy couple for years, and could be anyone: friends, neighbors, the grocery store clerk, even that crabby old guy shuffling across the street.

Now Spencer and Jen are on the run for their lives. As their suburban paradise turns into a paranoid game of dodge-the-bullet, they must find out who wants Spencer dead and why, all the while trying to save their marriage, manage his pain-in-the-ass in-laws, keep up neighborly appearances…and just plain survive.

And you thought suburban life was easy.

Starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher, and directed by Robert Luketic (21, THE UGLY TRUTH), Lionsgate’s KILLERS is a hilarious, unpredictable action comedy about love, marriage and serious firepower.

Review: Unforgettable You by Daisy Fuentes

Review: Unforgettable You by Daisy Fuentes

May 27, 2010

I was contacted by Victoria at ID and I was given the opportunity to receive and review Daisy Fuentes' new book!

From the Publishers

EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE NOTICED AND ADMIRED; THEY WANT TO BE UNFORGETTABLE.

For more than two decades, women have approached model, fashion designer, and international TV personality Daisy real for her take on what makes a person more desirable, more billable, and more bankable than others. What exactly is that "it" factor?

Revealing tips that she has learned from her life in and out of the spotlight and from other celebrities and experts, Daisy shows you how to perceive yourself honestly and accurately. Only then can you feel and look absolutely irresistible, with a head-turning walk and a million-dollar smile. Unforgettable You helps you to become the very best version of yourself. Daisy breaks her approach down to easy-to-follow areas on which to focus your improvements: inner reflection, etiquette, relationships, sex, spirituality, and beauty.

By the end of this book, you’ll know Daisy better, but most important, you’ll know yourself better and you will be armed with all the tools you need to be unforgettable—from the inside out.

Now On To My Review...

This book was a fun read for me. In Unforgettable You, Daisy Fuentes gives tips on style, etiquette and dating that can make you be unforgettable. Throughout the book, you also see small excerpts on famous women  that she considers unforgettable.

I liked the fact that she had an emphasis on having class and grace and that there can be a balance between acting like a lady and having fun. I also liked her informal way of writing, I really felt like she was one of my girlfriends giving me advice. She didn't use all that self-important babble which can be pretty annoying. It really seems like she cared about sharing her views with her fans and I didn't once suspect that this book was ghostwritten.

The only thing that I didn't like was that some of the tips and quotes mentioned in the book have been used to death by women's magazine so I wasn't impressed in that area, but she makes up for it with the funny personal stories and commentary. Other than the overused quotes, I enjoyed reading this book. I would reccomend it as something you can read at the beach or at the poolside. You can purchase this book at Barnes & Noble and most bookstores, it retails around $24.00.

Discalimer: I received this book gratuitous, however this did not affect my review.

OOTD: Give It Some Pink

May 23, 2010

I wore this to the same party I mentioned in my FOTD: Smoke and Mirrors post. The dress was a little big on me so I gathered it a little and I cinched a skinny black belt around my waist. I wore fuschia pumps to give it a little color. I'm not a big pink person like that but I do like bright pink and I found these shoes to be so cute. These heels were six inches and I'm 5'8 so I was like 6'1 last night, super tall lol. it's fun being so high up, but on the other hand it can be a pain when I want to dance at a party since I'm taller than eighty percent of the guys there lol.

It was hot which explains the messy, frizzy hair.

FOTD: Smoke and Mirrors

FOTD: Smoke and Mirrors

I went to a party last night with two of my friends and this is a look I did. I will be putting up pictures of my outfit in a separate post. I did a grey smokey look w/ nudey-pink lips. I don't know why my lips come out so pink in the pictures because they were paler in person. I was thinking about doing a tutorial on this look, what do you think?

AIDS Walk 2010

May 16, 2010

Today I pariticipated in the AIDS Walk and I really enjoyed myself. This was my 2nd year doing it and it was Jeremy's 1st time! He had a blast which was mainly due to the fact that they were giving out free snacks and he loves eating. Well technically he didn't walk, because he was in his stroller most of the time lol but he got a certificate of completion anyway.
It was great seeing a lot of people participate, AIDS can happen to anyone and by supporting funding and research, maybe one day we'll find a way to stop this disease and epidemic.

OOTD & FOTD: Rebelliously Pretty

May 15, 2010

This is just a casual Saturday outfit. For this outfit it was all about contrast. I chose a top with dainty crocheted detailing and paired it with super ripped jeans and studded sandals. these sandals were a steal, only $7.50 at Forever 21! I wore a cuffed brcelet which adds some color to the outfit. I love the design of this bracelet, I got it at a random spot in the Village about 3 years ago. I always get complimented on it because of the design and color.

I also added some color with the makeup. I stayed with the contrasting theme by keeping it sweet.

OOTD: A Splash of Color

OOTD: A Splash of Color

I wore this outfit to the event I mentioned in my Quick FOTD post. The pictures don't show the cut of the skirt very well but it's a tulip-style skirt so it billows out in the middle and it's fitted on the bottom. I wore a blazer on top to keep the look more modest but I took it off in the pictures to show the detailing of the top.

I wore this last week to dinner with my sister and best friend. i was celebrating that I paid off my balance to NYU. Yay me! For those in the NYC area, I would recommend Alberto's Mofongo House, especially on Wednesdays. It's located in Upper Manhattan. The food is good and they offer 2x1 drinks and free hookah on Wednesdays which is why i say it's the best day. Whoop Whoop!
