FOTD: Cool Baby Blues

Jan 18, 2011

This is the make-up I wore for the Prince Royce concert that I mentioned in my OOTD-Mixing It Up post. I used the NYX pearl mania pigment in "Baby Blue" as a base under the eyeshadow. It gave the shadow a great, pearly effect. I would definitely reccomend these pigments because they have great color payoff and blend easily with other eyeshadows. And for about $1.49 at the beauty supply store where I get my NYX fix at, they are a GREAT deal.

OOTD: Mixing It Up

Jan 16, 2011

This is an outfit that I wore to see Prince Royce in concert. I have a crush on him mainly because of his cute dimples. I was kind of disappointed to see that he's so short though! His songs are still nice to listen to and he is pretty darn cute even though he's bite sized.

Okay, back to my outfit! I wanted to experiment mixing with patterns and I decided to start off small. I did the striped dress w/ the polka-dotted tights and I found the combo cute. The polka dots in the tights were small so the whole look didn't look too busy. To not look like I escaped from the circus, I stuck w/ black mostly except for the yellow purse. I just threw it on because I liked how the yellow looked with the black and white. It wasn't that cold that day so I threw on this blazer on top as a jacket. The blazer has slightly padded shoulders and it made the outfit look more structured. My patent leather oxford booties completed the casual-chic look.

In case you haven't heard of Royce, here's a pic of him:
Even though Romeo of course will always be #1 in my heart, Prince Royce's songs are nice and worth a listen. He sings pop and bachata. I reccomend the songs "Corazon Sin Cara" and "El Amor Que Perdimos" in case you want to check any of them out.

Prizes Haul + My Makeup Swap w/ Rai

Prizes Haul + My Makeup Swap w/ Rai

Jan 15, 2011

This is a haul of some prizes I won via Twitter plus a swap I did w/ Rai at Glam-Morena last Fall (don't judge me).

I was chosen as the Flirt! Twitter It Girl of the Week a few months back and I won five lipglosses and a mascara. The glosses aren't too pigmented, they are good for wearing over lipstick. I especially like using Plum Delicious over Wet n Wild Ravin Raisin. These glosses also smell absolutely yummy. The packaging of the mascara was too cute and it's a decent formula. It did make my lashes look thicker.

swatches of the lip glosses, they are in the same order as listed above

I did a make-up swap with Rai where I sent her some Red Cherry lashes for a mark. lip and eye palette and a Revlon lip gloss. When I received my package, I received a pleasant suprise: some blushes as well! Once again, thanks Rai!

Beauty With Brains Update

Jan 9, 2011

Hey Guys!
I won't be updating my blog as much because right now I don't have a fully functioning camera :(.
I will try to post as often as I can, some of my photos might not be as good in quality because I will be using the camera in my phone.
I am getting a new camera so hopefully this will be a very temporary issue :).

Thanks for Understanding!

Divalicious: My Look For New Year's Eve

Divalicious: My Look For New Year's Eve

Happy New Year!!!!

sequined shorts: Posh-Pants (http://www.posh-pants.com/)
shoes: BCBG
earrings: F21
bracelet: Swarovski

I hope everybody is having a prosperous year so far. I wanted to welcome 2011 looking "Divalicious" so I wanted sparkle and shine in my outfit. So when I saw these sequined shorts by Posh-Pants, I knew that they would be perfect! I had a small problem at first with Posh-Pants. I ordered my shorts  and all went well with the order. Then about a week later, I see that I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation or tracking number for my order. I sent a couple of emails and have received no reply. I then sent a semi-threatening one and I finally got a response. They shipped my shorts right away and even refunded my shipping costs to make up for the inconvenience which was very nice of them. Yay for me!

my sister and I ringing in the New Year.
this is how I get when "Who's That Chick" by Rihanna comes on LOL. I put this pic up only because you can see the true color of the shorts.
Since the shorts were going to be the focal point of the outfit, I didn't want a top that competed with them. It was hard looking for a top because everything was either too casual or too out there. In thje end I found it in an unexpected place: Strawberry's. The top is nice and loose and cropped with lace detailing in the arm and back. Since the shorts were high waisted, i didn't reveal a lot of midriff. only when I raised my arms did you see some skin. Well I ended up raising my arms a lot that night lol since I get to get hyper and do crazy dancing after a few drinks. I completed the outfit with my BCBG patent nude pumps, some chandelier looking earrings from F21 and my Swarovski bracelet. I ended up losing my bracelet that night, I'm still soo bummed about that because I loved it so much. It was a simple and delicate piece.

I did a navy smokey eye w/ a matte, pink lip makeup-wise. I wanted to do a bold lip since I had neutral colors. I chose pink because I felt like I would look too patriotic if I did red. And I also love bright pink lips. And for hair, I did big, sexy, loose curls and flipped up my bangs.
