Halloween Looks: Jessica Rabbit

Oct 8, 2013

Halloween is almost near! Easily my favorite thing about the fall besides Fall Fashion. It's the one time a year where you can go all out with your creativity and nobody will judge you.

If you don't have a clue about what to be for Halloween, maybe this can be a good idea. Jessica Rabbit is a sexy and glamorous costume that will turn heads. I did a makeup look for the costume. It isn't difficult at all, the most difficult part is covering up the eyebrows so you can draw on new ones. You can cover up your eyebrows with Elmer's glue and there are a good number of tutorials on how to do so.

Products Used
NYX cream concealer "Tan"
Black Radiance Stick Foundation "Truly Topaz"
NYX Jumbo Pencil "Milk" (as base and ti trace outline of eyeshadow)
Coastal Scents 88 palette (Dark purple for the outer eye and lower lashline, light pink for inner corner. I brought the eye shadow up to my real eyebrow to copy Jessica Rabbit's exaggerated makeup)
Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow "Iced Latte" for inner corner and "brow bone"
Stargaze #48
MAC "Raizin" blush
NYX  dark brown eye shadow in "Love in Rio Palette" for contouring
Wet n Wild Eye Pencil "Dark Brown" to draw eye brows
NYX "Chaos" lipstick

I had to do several things to change up my face a little bit. I did a lot of contouring for my nose and I covered my lips with concealer. I have full lips but Jessica Rabbit has a smaller mouth than mine so I didn't draw on the lipstick on my mouth fully in order to achieve a smaller and full pout.

For the hair, I bought a wig and spray painted it with the colored hair spray that they sell for Halloween. i used the shade "Burgundy". I am planning to use the wig again for other looks so I needed a temporary hair color.

Review: Dove Damage Solutions Intensive Repair Hair Products

Oct 6, 2013

I was given the chance to review The Damage Solutions line by Dove. I'm a big fan of the classic Dove bar soap, I just love the clean and classic scent. However, I have never really tried the hair products so I was excited when I received the products for review.

Like most women, I care a great deal about my hair. I don't feel 100% if I'm not having a good hair day and I;m not the only one that feels that way. Dove Hair Care did a case study surveying 1,000 women between the ages 18-49 and found:

59% of Latinas say that they are more likely to go out of their way to make sure that certain people see them on a good hair day
- 81% of women fell more confident on a good hair day versus a bad one

My package came beautifully wrapped and it included the Dove Damage Solutions Intensive Repair Shampoo, Conditioner, Styling Cream and Mousse. I tried all the products minus the mousse, since I haven't had a use for it yet.

I took the products with me to the hair salon. I got my hair washed with the shampoo and conditioner and my hair stylist applied the styling cream before my roller set. The scent of the products is quite lovely and it remained long after my hair was dry. I loved the smell, it is the clean and classic smell that Dove is known for.

My hair was left very soft and silky. I definitely loved that moment when I left the salon, swishing my hair around.Too bad it didn't list! It wasn't entirely Dove's fault because the weather was pretty humid and gross over the weekend. But I was still disappointed that my hair got a little frizzy when I had it wrapped in a scarf.

My hair after using Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo, Conditioner and Styling Cream

I did like that my hair didn't feel greasy or weighed down. I am going to give the products another chance, and see how they work in regular weather. This weather was hard on everybody's hair. But I can say, I was satisfied overall. My hair did look pretty good before the humidity.
