Jeremy's 2nd Birthday

Jeremy's 2nd Birthday

My son Jeremy turned 2 on April 20th and I threw him a little birthday party yesterday. His theme was Curious George, he loves the show and you can't help but love the little monkey.

I couldn't add my watermark to my images since I'm blogging from my sister's laptop. Grrr.

Trend: Olives & Neutrals

Apr 22, 2010

This Spring and Summer we'll be seeing a lot of neutrals and olive tones on garments and shoes. Neutrals looks great especially when they're worn monochromatically or with a pop of color.

3 Ways To Wear The Boyfriend Blazer

3 Ways To Wear The Boyfriend Blazer

Apr 11, 2010

I absolutely LOVE my boyfriend blazer. It is one of my favorite pieces for Spring because it instantly makes any outfit cool. It is versatile and I am proving this by styling 3 different outfits; the only thing they have in common is the same boyfriend blazer.
Outfit #1: Casual (Good for the Daytime)

blazer- Forever21
grey tank top-Forever21
distressed jeans-American Eagle Outfitters
leopard-print flats-Mossimo
A blazer can add a touch of sophistication to a casual, simple outfit. This is good for an everyday which can instantly be transformed into a casual night look by adding heels. A good outfit for going for after-work drinks. I cuffed the jeans a bit to neaten up the look and the leopard-print flats makes the outfit a little bit more fun.
Outfit #2: Edgy (Clubbing, night out, etc)
lace tank top- H&M
liquid leggings- Members Only
cut out booties- Charlotte Russe
I did all black for the edgy outfit. To keep all black from looking drab, play around with different textures and cuts. I like the combination of the leather and lace and the blazer addas some coverage here. You don't end up looking overexposed and there's a subtle sexiness.
Outfit #3: Girlie/Feminine (for dinner, dates, etc)
white tank top-H&M
skirt- can't remember (sorry!)
shoes- H&M
This is probably my favorite outfit of the three. I love big, full skirts and this works really well with the blazer. The contrast between the ultra-feminine skirt and the masculine cut of the blazer plays up great. This outfit also has a sweet vibe that is very endearing.

This is my first time doing styling and I chose the boyfriend blazer because it's a big trend for this Spring and I wanted to you everyone how easy it is to wear this piece and how versatile it is. Hope you enjoyed it!

My Birthday @ 809 Lounge

My Birthday @ 809 Lounge

Sorry that I haven't been posting as much, I've been taking classes to become a certified Home Health Aide and with that and taking care of Jeremy, it's been cutting into my blogging time. But I'm here now and that's all that metters, right?

So last Saturday I celebrated my  22nd (I know, so old!) birthday at 809 Lounge (it gets it's name from DR's area code)  in Uptown, Manhattan. It was a nice venue, they played good music and the crowd was cool. I wore this really hot dress from Hot Miami Styles. It was a big hit! A lot of people were asking me where I got it from and i got some many compliments on it. I loved it, the material was knit so it clung and hugged you in all the right places, thankfully I had my Spanx under!

For makeup I did a bold gold and brown eye with nude lips. I kept the rest of my face pretty simple, other than foundation, I just had a little bronzer to liven up my face.

The flash on my phone is soo strong!

NOTD: Petites Color Fever in Periwinkle

NOTD: Petites Color Fever in Periwinkle

I love this color! It looks great on all skin colors and it's perfect for Spring. I like that the color is a bold pastel and that it isn't frosted or pearly which is what you usually see with pastel colors. Very rare can you find a pastel color that isn't frosty or that has a white cast.I added some zebra stripes on my ring finger and I think the effect is quite nice. I like the formula for the Petites brand, not too runny and it dries pretty quick. And if you're in a hurry, you will be fine with one coat since it has a good pigmentation.

You can get Petites nail polishes at Rite Aid and they usually retail at $3.99.
