I'm always dyeing my hair sporadically. My hair color usually reflects the mood I'm in for that moment. I decided to go dark for Fall/Winter and I chose a dark chocolate brown, which is the color I had for last Winter. In a couple of months, I'll re-dye it and mix with a different color to add more tones and depth. I do all my hair dyeing myself since I usually stay in the brunette family and I don't do anything too complicated. I also do my own highlights, including the ones I had before my current hair color. I don't trust salons after I was left with orange hair this one time.

When I dye my hair, I don't buy the box dyes. I buy the color and developer separately. It comes out cheaper and I also like it because I can mix shades to create my own custom color and I can control the developer level as well. The dyes are the same formula as box dyes, you just have more color choices and you can choose to mix them with a higher level developer. However, I don't recommend doing this unless you have some hair coloring knowledge or speaking with someone that's a hair color expert.

That was the same brand of dye and developer I used for my current color. Except that I used three bottles because I have a lot of hair and it's long as well. I used level 20 developer this time because I was going darker. This was my hair color before:

And this is my hair color now:

I also went to the salon afterwards and trimmed my hair and added layers, which is why it looks shorter in the front. I do several things to maintain my hair so that it could be healthy and not lose it's shine. I did a haircare regimen post a few months ago, you can go HERE to read it.

Jordana Loose Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

Jordana Loose Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

Jordana Loose Eyeshadows in shades "Brownie" and "Going Green"

I discovered these while making a trip to the beauty on my lunch break and they immediately caught my eye. They just looked so pretty and the price made them even more tempting, only 1.99 USD for each one! So I bought two and decided to try them out.

I'll start out by saying that these are definitely a great buy! They are really pigmented and when applied wet, the colors look even more intense. They have great staying power and I didn't have much issue with fallout when I was swatching them. I used "Going Green" in a mermaid inspired look I did. I used a damp brush and it wasn't difficult to apply and blend with other colors. I would definitely recommend this product if you want to stock up on loose eyeshadows that are really affordable.
mermaid inspired look I did using "Going Green" on my eyelid

You can find these anywhere where they sell Jordana products. Most beauty supply stores carry them as well as Cherry Culture.

To Sum It All Up:
PROS: Great pigmentation, really affordable, easy to use, available in a lot of places.
CONS: None!
RATING: 5/5

Beyonce "Countdown" Makeup Tutorial

First of all I would like to apologize for the iffy editing, I was using a different editing program and it wouldn't let me adjust the sound for each individual clip, which explains why the sound is so low in the beginning.

I really like the video to this song, it's fun and colorful. I did this tutorial based on the look Beyonce is wearing in the very beginning of the video. I loved the Audrey Hepburn homage. Enjoy!

Underneath The Layers OOTD

One of my favorite things to wear during Fall/Winter are tights. I love wearing different colors, patterns and textures and find different combinations with what to wear them. I wore this purple pair with that outfit to finally get some use out of them because they were laying in my drawer since like last year. I wore them under shorts, I love how the purple looked with the lace-up boots.

Fall Smokey Eye Tutorial (Inspired by Kim Kardashian)

Fall Smokey Eye Tutorial (Inspired by Kim Kardashian)

Oct 6, 2011

This is a smokey eye that's great for Fall because of the brown added to it. It's inspired by Kim Kardashian. My first celebrity-inspired tutorial, yay!

For smokey eyes or other looks with dark eye makeup, I recommend putting your concealer on AFTER. It's easier to tidy up and your under eyes won't come out looking greenish which tends to happen. A little tip I forgot to include in the video. Anyway, Enjoy!
