How to Stretch Out Shoes That Are Too Tight

Mar 6, 2018

Have you ever purchased the most perfect pair of shoes that are your size but just a little bit too tight? This was my scenario when I purchased my first pair of Louboutins. Louboutins are known for running narrow and my feet are kind of wide so I knew I would have to visit this babies in store versus ordering them online.  For such an investment, I wanted to make sure they fit.

The style I purchased are the Jonatina sandals. Turns out, I had to go up a whole size. A size 40 fit me fine but I had some slight tightness around my pinky toe. I considered getting them professionally stretched but I decided to just try my go-to method.

What You'll Need:
  • Your shoes
  • Thick Socks (athletic socks work best)
  • Hair Dryer

Steps:
  • Put on your socks. I had some thick wool socks on in the photo, gym socks work great as well. If you do not have any thick socks, you can wear 2-3 pairs of regular socks at a time to get the same results.
  • Put your feet inside the shoes.
  • Blast your dryer on high and pass it over your feet while flexing your feet and toes. Keep doing this for about two minutes. Keep moving the dryer back and forth because you could burn yourself if you direct it at one spot for too long.
  • Wait until your shoes and socks cool before removing them. Take the socks off and try slipping into your shoes. It usually works after one go but you can do another round if it feels too tight.
  • As an added bonus, I like to put the socks back on and just wear the shoes around my house for a coupe of hours to really break them in.
This works really great on leather shoes. I have also used this on faux and vegan leather with successful results.I did have to do a couple of rounds on faux leather because it doesn't stretch as easily.

I hope this little fashion hack worked well for you all. Here's to beautiful shoes and happy feet!

DIY Feather Sandals

Aug 15, 2016

Feather heels have been spotted nearly everywhere-from high-end to fast fashion. I decided to make my own pair from a pair of pink, strappy heels that I own. I got these from GoJane. The feathers, I got from ebay. I typed in "marabou feather boa" in the search box and chose the color I felt would look nice on the sandals. I love how they came out. I feel like these shoes are super girly and fun and definitely eye-catching. Keep reading for step-by-step instructions on how to make them.

Tuesday Shoesday: Lace Yourself Up!

Apr 22, 2014

I am currently enamored with shoes with lace-up detailing. Whether flats or heels, there is something about them that is incredibly sexy to me. This style elongates the leg and looks great with a short dress or skirt. A must-have for Spring! And a perfect excuse to show off that fresh pedicure.

Shoes For Spring

Jenn from Spiced Beauty asked for a post on my favorite shoes for Spring. Be sure to check out her blog where she has great makeup and fashion posts. So with the help of Polyvore,  I did a bit of a shoe collage. I enjoyed picking out all these great shoes. Don't be discouraged by the higher-end picks, dupes can be easily found!

One of my favorite shoe trends for Spring is bright colored shoes. I love wearing a bright colored or patterned flat to give an everyday outfit a little bit of life. I am aslo loving espradilles and bright colored wedges. Once again, nude and blush colored hues are big this season. Boho-chic is alo in style once again, I have a pair of the Minnetonka fringed boots shown above and they are so comfy. I can't wait to wear them with denim short and flowy dresses.

I am in love with the Kelsi Dagger pumps with the bow, I have already added them to my wishlist!

I Heart Jeffrey Campbell

Mar 7, 2011

Jeffrey Campbell is my latest obsession. So many beautiful shoes! The best part about this designer is that you don't have to break the bank to own some mean shoes. Most of the shoes in this line are under three hundred dollars. A little pricey but compared to other designers, they are a great steal. here are two pairs of wedges that I purchased from the shoe site SoleStruck.
Mary Roks wedge in Pink Cheetah
The infamous Tick wedge
I LOVE that the box for the Tick wedges had a shoe-themed crossword puzzle!
I have worn only the Tick wedges and they are extremely comfortable. they are a little on the heavy side but nothing major. I would love someone to mess with me while I'm wearing them so I can give them a good stomping. They are so bad ass that it's not even funny. I can't wait to wear the Mary Roks.

Christian Louboutin Sequin Pumps
I am a shoe freak and I fell in love with these as soon as I saw Sarah Jessica Parker rock them in the January issue of Glamour magazine. These shoes will make any boring outfit a little more interesting. They're priced at $473, a little pricey but I am going to start a fund for these shoes. That's how much I love them.
