OOTDs & NOLA Recap

Last weekend, I went to New Orleans to celebrate my birthday. I enjoyed myself immensely.  I stayed in the French Quarter at the historic Le Pavillon hotel.  The hotel is very beautiful with antique furnishings and French influence in its design. Despite the rumors of it being haunted, I did not encounter any ghosts. The hotel was conveniently located by Jackson Square and Bourbon Street, making it easy to explore. The photos taken below were taken inside the hotel. It will give you an idea how pretty it was.

*At the end of this post, there are links to shop for my outfits. For items that are unavailable, I provided similar options. Hope you enjoy this post!

As expected, we had a blast on Bourbon Street. Tourists and locals alike were very friendly. I enjoyed dining in the Garden District (with the exception of Muriel's) a lot more as it wasn't so busy and you get more bang for your buck over there. We went to the Blind Pelican for lunch and had some fantastic chargrilled oysters. You get a dozen for about ten bucks.

For my birthday dinner, we went to Muriel's in Jackson Square. And there I had a creepy encounter. After dining, we went to have a look around. The restaurant is said to be haunted, and the restaurant always has a table set for its resident ghost, Pierre Antoine. The restaurant also has a seance room. While in the seance room, I went to open a door and felt as if the door was being pulled from the other side. I assumed it was a heavy door, so I pulled harder on the handle. All of a sudden, the handle was jerked away from me and the door slammed shut. We were all pretty creeped out!

Besides stuffing my face, I also did a couple of tours. A Swamp Tour & a Ghost Tour. Both were very educational and very interesting. I was lucky enough to have guides that have a passion for their particular subject. Overall, I had a terrific time in NOLA. I can't wait to visit again!

Lollipop Boutique Grand Opening

Lollipop Boutique Grand Opening

May 23, 2014

I was invited to attend the grand opening of the Lollipop Boutique located in the Washington Heights-Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan. I was excited to attend because it was in my neighborhood! I love supporting local businesses.

The clothing in the store is trendy and very colorful and fun. Owner Yahaira Nunez (who was a former contestant of the reality show "Nuestra Belleza Latina) wants the clothes to be a reflection of the Latino Culture and for it to have the "spice" that Latinas are known for. I love that the clothes are affordable, the most expensive item is $150.00.

Owner of the Lollipop Boutique, Yahaira Nunez doesn't want the Lollipop Boutique to be just a store, but a fun party for girls. She wants shopping to be a fun and unforgettable experience which is reflected upon the upbeat and bright decor of the store. Aside from selling clothes and accessories, she plans on holding cocktail hours as well as "Sip and Shop" events for VIP clients.

I will definitely be making a lot of visits to the Lollipop Boutique. It being only ten minutes away from me will definitely have an impact on my wallet.

Lollipop Boutique is located on 487D Broadway by 204 St in Manhattan, New York.

Buyers Beware of Luna Boston

Buyers Beware of Luna Boston

Aug 10, 2011

Luna Boston (www.lunaboston.com) is a site that sells handbags from designers such as Rebecca Minkoff and House of Harlow. So this is my experience dealing with them:

I ordered the Gypsy Crossbody Clutch by Rebecca Minkoff. I received it within 2 days and was dissatisfied because the color and texture of the bag wasn't true to its description. I went to the site to process the return and they send you a printing label but that label didn't show on my screen so I called and the customer service rep said to bring the bag in person to their offices in New York.

I did so the next day which was on July 7th. It states on their site to wait 7-10 business days for a refund. It has been a month already! I've called twice and they always they say they are going to give me my refund and have yet to do so. I've even written them a stern email and still nothing. So I have resorted to writing a blog post.

It is incredibly irresponsible of them to no give me my refund and I am very dissatisfied with their poor way of handling things. So I warn all my readers to think twice before purchasing anything from this site.
