OOTD: Don't Stop Me Now

Oct 12, 2020

Band tees are one of those items that are a wardrobe staple because they really do show an aspect of your personality. I just don't wear tees of bands that I do not listen to. The title of this post is an ode to one of my favorite Queen songs. It's so upbeat and Freddie Mercury really does his thang on it.

Am I the only open that is starting to feel super old seeing the bands that the younger generations are wearing? They are wearing the musicians that I grew up listening to. But, in my head, it does not feel like it was 20+ years ago. I paired my Queen tee with a leather skirt and these awesome pink boots I found on clearance at Topshop. The pink is an ode to Pink Wednesdays since I was brunching with my friends in honor of Mean Girls Day aka October 3rd. The jacket is a cool piece from my friend's line 6Henshaw. It is actually a men's jacket but I loved the pattern. It was too good to pass up.

Violet Intrigue

Lavender Voltage

Midnight Plum

Thoughts: I was excited when I saw this display because of all the purple. Purple is my favorite color, in case you haven't noticed. I liked the pigmentation and colors of the three shades I got. My favorite out of all three is "Lavender Voltage". I like that the purple is blue-based, when most purples are pink or red based. The color is quite flattering and it would look really good on us gals with deeper skin tones.

Color Sensational Lip Gloss "Royal Purple"

I am IN LOVE with this lip gloss. It is such a pretty, deep purple. I like that the purple is blue-based, which is not that common in drugstore lip products. Most purples I own that I bought from drugstores are pink-based. When layered over Lavender Voltage, it deepens the color and it's quite gorgeous. I officially have a new statement lip color for Fall.

Rich, Fall Colors

Simple outfit for a late dinner with friends. I've had this eggplant top in my closet for a while and wanted to get some wear out of it. I wore it with a simple black body-con skirt and added combat boots. The sheer top keeps the outfit more on the feminine side. It's easy to turn an outfit tomboyish with combat boots.

What I Wore:
F21 top and socks
H&M skirt
Wanted boots
assorted accessories on my wrist

And a closer look at my makeup. One of the few times that I did highlight and contouring on my own face. I haven't worn a lot of makeup lately because I've been breaking out like crazy. I started a new skin regimen and have been trying to let my skin breathe until it clears up some. Leave a comment if you want details on my skin regimen.

Oxblood Pants & Cap-toed Pumps OOTD

Oxblood Pants & Cap-toed Pumps OOTD

Oct 1, 2012

It was a Girl's Night Out last Saturday, one that was long due. I haven't been out with my girlfriends for about a month and I did miss our outings. I also was dying to wear my new cap-toe pumps. I've been wanting a pair since the summertime and I got these from Piperlime. They're by Steve Madden. I'm not a big fan of Steve Madden but the Zara version of these pumps were sold out everywhere sadly. I'm satisfied with these though, they fit a little big but nothing inserting an insole can't solve.

I am OBSESSED with oxblood. Clothes, makeup, polishes, you name it! I decided on a tough and edgy look to go with the oxblood-colored pants by adding a leather jacket with zipper detailing. The snakeskin belt broke up all the black. I like that oxblood is an easy color to style around and you can wear it year round with the right pieces.

My earrings were from Lauren of Lauren's Beauty Tips ebay store. They added a little something extra to my outfit and they are much lighter than they look so my earlobes didn't suffer :-P.

What I Wore:
TOV leather jacket
Mystique tank top
H&M pants and belt
Forever21 clutch
Steve Madden "Ilussion" pumps
earrings from Lauren's eBay store

Fashion Trends For Fall 2012

Aug 29, 2012

Aaaah Fall. Fall brings us daylight savings, Thanksgiving and Fashion Week. Also, a whole plethora of new trends for us fashionistas to divulge in. Here are my favorite ones for this upcoming season

Wedged Sneakers
I only wear sneakers to go to the gym (which I barely go to anyway) or if it's raining and I don't want to wear my rain boots. Other than my converse, you won't see me wearing them much. But these are tres cute! Isabel Marant was the originator behind the wedged sneakers and now more affordable options are popping everywhere. These are great for casual wear and adds a little more glamour to a laid-back look.

Oxblood
This beautiful shade of red looks great as both as an accent color or as a neutral. It's so sensual and dark and it instantly dresses up any look with the richness in color. Oxblood is the new black!

Embellished Collars/Collared Necklaces
This is perhaps one of the most economical trends. A funky collared necklace can dress up a plain tee or jazz up your favorite jeans with an embellished collared shirt. You can even make a DIY embellished top or necklace. I made a necklace myself which I will be showing soon.

Printed Pumps
This list wouldn't be complete without me doing a set with shoes! Printed pumps are a must. With a variety of patterns and textures, there's a pair for any outfit. The best statement you can make with an outfit is with your shoes and a pair of one of these bold-patterned shoes will say the best about you.
