I was invited to attend and cover the DREAM Event at the 40/40 Club on Thursday, November 12th. Many influential Dominicans gathered together in support of DREAM. The DREAM Project is a non-profit organization that helps more than 6,000 children in the Dominican Republic have a quality education. DREAM has become a major success run by a paid local staff of more than 40 Dominicans, four expatriates and numerous volunteers from all over the globe.
The DREAM event was hosted by Dominican bachata stars Henry Santos and Leslie Grace. The guest of honor was baseball player Robinson Cano, second baseman for the Seattle Mariners. Cano is well-known for his generous contributions to the Dominican Republic. The event was sponsored by Jet Blue and UBS. Guests enjoyed cocktails courtesy of Brugal.
Below are some photos from the event. If you would like to learn more about the DREAM Project and make a donation to the cause, you can click HERE to visit the DREAM website.
