My Oily Skin Saviors

Summer is pretty much here and one thing that I hate about the Summertime is how my face acts up. I have combination/oily skin and it can be such a pain. I experience oily skin pretty much in the t-zone area. My hormonal acne is finally under control (thank you birth control) and it isn't a major issue for me anymore. But as soon as it starts getting hot, my t-zone becomes an oil slick.

Luckily, I have these useful little tools that keep my face shine-free for most of the day. That and my daily makeup routine has helped keep A LOT of the oiliness under control.  I use my Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment under my daily moisurizer. This was gifted to me by my BFF and I am so happy she gave me this! This stuff is amazing! And I love the cool sensation, especially on warmer days.

For touch-ups, I use my Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens. They are available at Sephora. At $7.00, The price is pretty decent and these are the best blotting papers I have used. They absorb a lot of oil and I only need one sheet. For extra humid days, I'll touch up twice a day.

I do not wear foundation everyday. I wouldn't be able to stand it! My makeup routine for everyday is pretty simple. I'll just add a little blush or lipstick to liven it up a little.

We finally got a hot day after so many cold days. I'm not too enthusiastic because there wasn't much of a Spring, which is my favorite season. It was the kind of hot where it was humid as well, which I despise. My hair usually suffers in humidity.

Finalmente conseguimos un día caluroso, después de tantos días de frío. No estoy muy entusiasmada porque no había mucho dias de  primavera, que es mi temporal favorita. Era el tipo de calor que se sentía la humedad, así, que yo desprecio. Mi cabello por lo general sufre de la humedad.

I tried to keep cool in a loose-fitting tee. I can not stand wearing clothes that are too fitted when it's hot out. I paired it with a body con mini to give it some shape.

Traté de mantener la calma en una camiseta holgada. No soporto usar ropa que son demasiada apretada cuando hace calor. Me emparejado con una mini-falda ajustada para darle un poco de forma.

Fashion Friday: Piperlime Haul

Piperlime had sent me a 20% off coupon which gave me another reason to shop. It's my favorite website to shop for shoes. I didn't buy any shoes this time however (shocking). I ended up with two tees and a case for my phone.

OOTD: Neon + Neutrals

A beautiful day in NYC last Friday. So I decided to venture out to the park near my neighborhood with my tripod and capture a few shots. Not bad for pics I took myself, eh?

I got to wear the fabulous neon satchel that my sister got me for my birthday. And these ankle-strap flats are my favorite shoe of the moment. They are such a cute alternative to heels! I have a pair in mint green, which I am wearing in this post.

The maxi skirt has a new twist in the form of the slit. The higher, the better! All that leg is best paired with a simple strappy sandal. I'm loving shoes in jewel tones and lace-up, high-heeled sandals. Goes perfect with your favorite mini skirt or dress.

The midi-length is gaining more popularity. I love this style particularly on tall women, it is so flattering on them. Shorter girls can wear it too as long as they avoid flats. And fun neon colors are a easy way to add a pop of color to any outfit.
